In the name of Allah, the most gracious and merciful. [I swear] by those who snatch suddenly,

those^FP who draw out smoothly,

those^FP who  swim,

those^FP who precede,

and those^FP who direct matters:

on the day the trembler^FS trembles,

followed by the follower,^FS

on that day, hearts will palpitate,

and their sight will be humbled.

They will say, “Have we been returned in our former condition,

even though our bones had rotted?”

They said, “Then that is a losing return.

It is a single cry.”

They are wakeful.

*** Have you^MS heard the story of Musa?

His Lord called him in Tuwa, the holy valley,

“Go^MS to Pharaoh. He is a tyrant.

And say^MS: "Can you^MS be purified?

I will guide you^MS to your^MS Lord and you^MS will fear.”

So he showed him the great sign,

but he rejected and disobeyed.

Then he turned away quickly,

gathered [people], and called out.

He said, “I am your^MP most high lord.”

So Allah seized him as an example of punishment in the hereafter as well as in this world.

That is a moral for those who fear.

*** Is your^MP nature stronger, or the sky's, which he built?

He raised its ceiling and leveled it,

darkened its night and brought forth its dawn.

Then he spread out the earth.

He brought forth its water and pastures from it,

and founded the mountains

*** as pleasure for you^MP and your^MP cattle.

*** When the great disaster comes,

on that day people will remember what they were striving for,

and the blazing fire will be evident for those who see.

For those who transgress

and prefer this world,

the blazing fire will be their abode.

But for those who fear their Lord’s status and forbid people from their passion,

heaven will be their abode.

*** They ask you^MS about the hour, “When it will be fixed?”

What are you^MS that you^MS should remember it?

Its end is your^MS Lord’s.

You^MS are only a warner for those who fear it.

When they see it, it will seem to them that they only remained [on earth] for an evening or its dawn.
