In the name of Allah, the most gracious and merciful. The hour is near, and the moon is split.

If they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Continued magic.”

They reject [it] and follow their own desires. Every matter is firmly established.

Some tidings with rebukes came to them.

Excellent wisdom. Warnings do not help.

away from them. On the day the caller calls to something unheard of,

27A4 their sight will be humbled as they come out from the tombs, as if they were scattered locusts

hastening to the caller. The disbelievers will say, “This is a hard day.”

Before them, Nuh’s people rejected. They rejected our servant and said, “[He is] crazy.” He was driven away.

He prayed to his Lord, “I am defeated, so defend [me].”

We opened the doors of the sky and rain poured forth.
0
12
We made the earth gush with fountains, and the waters met for a decreed matter.
0
13
We carried him on a [ship] with boards and caulking.

It sailed with our eyes upon it as a recompense for him who was disbelieved.

And we left it as a sign. Will anyone remember?

Aad rejected. What were my torment and my warning like?

We sent a raging wind against them on a continuously unlucky day.

It snatched away people as if they were roots of uprooted palm trees.

Thamud rejected the warnings.

They said, “Shall we follow a single man from among us? We would be astray and crazy.

Has the reminder been given to him among us all? He is an insolent liar.”

Tomorrow they will know who the insolent liar is.

as a trial to them, so watch them and wait.

Announce to them that the water is apportioned among them, every one present to drink in turn.

They called their companion, who took [a sword] and hamstrung [her].

What were my torment and my warning like?

We sent a single cry against them, and they were like dry sticks of a cattle-fold builder.

Lut’s people rejected the warning.

We sent a wind with stones against them – all except for Lut’s family, whom we rescued at dawn,

as our blessing. This is how we reward those who give thanks.

He warned them of our severity,but they doubted the warning.

They asked him [for permission] to sleep with his guest, so we put out their eyes. “Taste my torment and my warning.”

Continuous torment came to them in the morning.

They rejected all our signs, so we seized them as a mighty, powerful one.

The crowd will be defeated and turn back.

Their appointment is with the hour, and the hour is very grievous and bitter.

Wrongdoers are astray and crazy.

On that day, they will be dragged into hellfire on their faces. “Taste what scorching fire feels like.”

We have created everything in measure.

We have only one command, as the twinkling of an eye.

We have destroyed your

sects. Will anyone remember?

Everything they did is in the books.

Everything great and small is written.

The godly will be in heavenly gardens by a river,

in an excellent dwelling with a powerful king.
