and thoseFP who follow the reminder:

*** “Truly yourMP god is one,

*** Lord of the heavens, the earth, and everything between them, Lord of the sunrises.”

*** We truly decorated the lower sky with the stars,
0
7
*** as protection from all rebellious devils.
0
8
*** TheyMP do not listen to the highest hosts and are expelled from every side.
0

Driven away, they will have torment forever,
0
10
except for those who snatch by stealth and are pursued by shining fire.
0
11
AskMS themMP if they are stronger than those we created. We created them from sticky clay.
0

*** YouMS were amazed, and they mock.
0
13
If they are reminded, they will not remember it.
0

If they see a sign, they ridicule.
0

They say, “This is clearly nothing but magic.
0

If we die and are dirt and bones, will we be resurrected?

And our forefathers, too?”

SayMS, “Yes, even though youMP are vile.”

It is one cry, and then they will see.

They will say, “Woe to us. It is the day of judgment.”

This is the day of separation, which youMP denied.

23A3 Gather the wicked with their wives and what they worshiped

instead of Allah, and guide them on the path of the blazing fire,

and stop them. They will be asked,

"What is wrong with youMP that youMP do you not aid each other?

Today they have surrendered.

Some of them approached each other discussing.
0

They said, “YouMP used to come to us on the right.”
0

They said, “But youMP were not believers.
0
30
We had no power over youMP, and youMP were transgressing people.”

So our Lord’s saying was fulfilled. We will taste it.

We beguiled youMP. We were beguiledMP.
0

They will share in torment on that day.
0

This is what we do to wrongdoers.
0

If they were told, “Allah is the only god,” they became proud
0
36
and said, “Should we leave our gods for a demonized poet?”
0

But he came with truth and confirmed the messengers.
0

YouMP will truly taste painful torment.
0

YouMP will be repaid only for yourMP deeds.

But as for Allah’s sincere servants,

they will have a clear provision:

fruits and honor
0
43
in heavenly gardens of delight,
0
44
facing each other on couches,
0
45
with a cup from a fountain passed around.
0
46
[It is] a clear cup and a delight for those who drink.
0
47
It neither causes drunkenness nor does it become empty.
0

TheyMP will have low-hanging sparkling onesFP
0

like hidden eggs.
0

Some of them approached others and wondered.
0

OneM of them said, “I had a partnerM.”

He said, “Do youMS believe it?
0

If we die and are dirt and bones, will we be judged?”

He said, “Are youMP looking?”

They looked and saw him in the middle of the blazing fire.

He said, “By Allah, youMS almost destroyed me.

If not for my Lord’s blessings, I would have been brought [there].

So are we not dead,

except for the first death, and we are not to be tormented?

This is the great victory.”

Let the workers work for such as this.

Is this better as a dwelling place, or the bitter almond tree,

which we made a trial for the wicked?

It is a tree with roots from the bottom of the blazing fire.

Its pods are like devils’ heads.

They eat it and fill their bellies with it,
0

then drink a mixture of boiling water,
0
68
and then return to the blazing fire.
0

They found their forefathers going astray,
0
70
yet they raced after them.
0

Most of the men of old before them went astray.
0

We sent warners to them.
0

See what was the end of those who were warned.

But not our sincere servants.

Nuh called out to us. How wonderful are the responders!

We rescued him and his family from great distress.

Then we made his seed remain,

and left this [blessing] upon him for later ages:

“Peace be upon Nuh among men.”

Thus we reward those who do good.

He is one of our believing servants.

Then we drowned the rest.

23A4 Truly among those of his sect was Ibrahim,

who came to his Lord with a sound heart,

when he told his father and his people, “What are youMP worshipping?

Do youMP want a lie: gods besides Allah?

What do youMP think about the Lord of the universe?

So he took a look at the stars.
0

Then he said, “I am sick.”

So they turned away from him and went away.
0

So he turned to their gods and said, “Will youMP not eat?

Why do youMP not speak?”

So he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand,

and they came to him quickly.

He said, “Do youMP worship what youMP engrave
0

when Allah created youMP and everything youMP make?”
0

They said, “Build him a building and throw him in the blazing fire.”

They wanted to trick him, but we humiliated them.
0

And he said, “I am going to my Lord. He will guide me.
0

Lord, give me someone righteous,”
0

so we gave him good news of a gentle son.

When he could walk, he said, “Son, I saw in a dream that I will sacrifice youMS. Look; what do youMS see?” He said, “Father, do as youMS have been commanded. If Allah wills, youMS will find I endure.”

When they had both surrendered, and he had laid him face down,

we called, “Ibrahim,

youMS have fulfilled the vision.” Thus we reward those who do good.

This was a clear test.

And we ransomed him with a great sacrifice
0

and left [this blessing] upon him for later ages:
0

“Peace be upon Ibrahim.”

Thus we reward those who do good.

He is one of our believing servants.

And we gave him good news of Ishaq’s prophethood and righteousness,

and we blessed him and Ishaq. Some of their descendants were good, and some clearly wrong themselves.

We gave blessing to Musa and Harun
0

and rescued themD and theirD people from great distress
0
116
and gave themP victory; theyP were the winners.

We gave Musa the clear book,
0

guided them on the straight path,
0

and left upon themD for later ages:

“Peace be upon Musa and Harun.”

Thus we reward thoseMP who do good.

TheyD are some of our believing servants.

Ilyas was one of the messengers.

He told his people, “Are youMP not godly?”

Do youMP pray to Baal and leave the best of creators?

Allah is yourMP Lord and the Lord of yourMP ancestors.

They rejected him, and they are summoned.

But not our sincere servants.

and left this upon him for later ages:

“Peace be upon Ilyasin.”

Thus we reward thoseP who do good.

He is one of our believing servants.

Lut was a messenger.

We rescued him and all his family

except for an old woman who lagged behind.

Then we destroyed the rest.

and youMP pass by them in the morning

and at night. Do youMP not comprehend?

Yunus was a messenger;

he fled to the laden ship.

He cast lots and was condemned.

So the whale swallowed him while he was blameworthy.

If he had not praised [Allah],

he would have remained in its belly until the day they are resurrected.

23B1 So we expelled him, naked and sick,

and made a squash tree sprout over him,

and we sent him to a hundred thousand people or more.

They believed, so we let them enjoy for a time.

So askMS themMP, “Does yourMS Lord have daughters and theyMP have sons?

Or did we create angels female as they watched?

But they falsely say,

Allah has begotten. They lie.

“He chose daughters over sons.”

What is wrong with youMP? How do youMP judge?

Do youMP not remember?

Or do youMP have clear authority?

Bring forth yourMP book if youMP are telling the truth.

They claim kinship between him and the jinns, even though the jinns know that they will be summoned.

May Allah be glorified above what they describe,

except for Allah’s sincere servants.

YouMP and the gods youMP worship

will not seduceMP

anyone except those roasting in the blazing fire.

All of us have a known position

and we are arrayedMP in ranks.

We are praisers.

They would have said,

“If only we had a reminder from the men of old,

we would be Allah’s sincere servants.”

They disbelieved in it, and they will know.

We previously sent our word to our servants the messengers.

They are the saved ones.
0

Our winning forces are theirs.

So turnMSaway from them for a while
0

and see them. They will see.
0

So will they hasten our torment?
0

If it descends on their yard, it will be a bad morning for those who were warned.

So turnMS away from them for a while

and see. They will see.
