21B3 In the name of Allah, the most gracious and merciful. Prophet, fearMS Allah and do not obeyMS the disbelievers and hypocrites. Allah is all-knowing and wise.
0
2
FollowMS yourMS Lord's inspiration to youMS. Allah is aware of yourMP deeds.
0
3
Trust in Allah. Allah is an adequate guardian.
0
4
*** Allah did not give any man two hearts in his chest, and he did not make the wives youMP divorce into yourMP mothers. He did not make yourMP adopted sons yourMP real sons. Those [only] yourMP sayings with yourMP mouths. Allah speaks the truth, and guides on the path.
0
5
*** CallMP them by theirMP fathers’ names. That is more just to Allah. If youMP do not know their fathers, [call them] yourMP brothers in religion and yourMP relatives. YouMP are not to blame if youMP at fault in this unless youMP did it intentionally. Allah is forgiving and merciful.
0
6
The prophet is closer to the believers than theirMP own souls, and his wives are theirMP mothers. Blood relativesMP are closer to each other in Allah’s book than believers and emigrants. However, youMP should treat yourMP friends kindly. That is written in the book.
0
7
We made a covenant with the prophets, as well as with you. We made a strong covenant with Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa son of Mariam,
0
8
so that he may ask truthful people about their truthfulness. He prepared painful torment for the disbelievers.
0
9
Believers, remember Allah’s blessings to youMP, when troops came against youMP and we sent a wind against them, as well as troops youMP did not see. Allah sees yourMP deeds.
0
10
They came upon youMP from above youMP and below youMP, sight became dim and hearts were in throats. YouMP imagined wrong thoughts about Allah.
0
11
There the believers were tested and shaken with a severe earthquake.
0
12
The hypocrites and those with sick hearts said, “Allah and his messenger promised us only vain hopes.”
0
13
One group of them said, “People of Yathrib, youMP have no place, so goMP back. Another group of them asked the prophet’s permission. They said, “Our housesF are exposed,” whereas theyF were not exposed. TheyMP only want to flee.
0
14
If theyMP were attacked from theirF sides, and theyMP were asked to defect, theyMP would have come to themF and not remainedMP long.
0
15
TheyMP had promised Allah beforehand that they would not turn back. Promises to Allah are a responsibility.
0
16
SayMS, “Fleeing will not help youMP, if youMP flee death or murder. Otherwise, youMP would only enjoy it for a while.”
0
17
SayMS, “Who can preserve youMP from Allah, whether he wants to do bad things to youMP or have mercy on youMP?” They will find no helper or savior besides Allah.
0
18
21B4 Allah surely knows the hinderers among youMP, and those who tell their brothers, “Come to us.” They rarely come to fight,
0
19
being greedy of youMP. When fear comes upon them, youMS see them looking to youMS. Their eyes roll like someone fainting on the verge of death. When fear goes away, they abuse youMS with sharp tongues, greedyMP for good things. They do not believe, and Allah has made their works vain. That is easy for Allah.
0
20
They think that the groups have not gone, and when the groups come, they wish that they were desert nomads, asking about yourMP news. Even if they had been among youMP, they would only have fought a little.
0
21
YouMP have a good example in Allah’s messenger for those who hope in Allah and the last day, and who remember Allah frequently.
0
22
When the believers saw the groups, they said, “This is what Allah and his messenger promised us. Allah and his messenger were right.” This caused them to increase in faith and submission.
0
23
Some believing men are honest in what they promise Allah, some of them fulfill their vows, and some of them wait, and do not change at all.
0
24
May Allah reward the honest for their honesty, and torment the hypocrites if he wills, or accept their repentance. Allah is forgiving and merciful.
0
25
Allah sends disbelievers back, furious because they got no spoils. Allah is sufficient for the believers in battle. Allah is strong and mighty.
0
26
Allah cast down from their castles the people of the book who assisted them, and put fear in their hearts. Some of them youMP kill, and some of them youMP take as prisoners.
0
27
He made youMP inherit their lands, houses and money, a land youMP had not set foot upon. Allah can do anything.
0
28
Prophet, tell yourMS wives, “If youFP wantFP this world and its glamor, comeFP. I will provide for youFP and divorce youFP graciously.
0
29
But if youFP want Allah, his messenger and the hereafter, Allah has prepared a great reward for those of youFP who do good.
0
30
Wives of the prophet, if one of youFP commits promiscuity clearly, she will have double the torment. That is easy for Allah.
0
31
22A1 We will give a double reward to those among youFP who are devout in obedience to Allah and his messenger, and do righteous deeds. We have prepared a generous provision for them.
0
32
Wives of the prophet, youFP are not like anotherMS woman. If youFP are godly, do not useFP coarse speech, or someone with a sick heart may desire. SpeakFP kindly.
0
33
SitFP quietly in yourFP houses, and do not dress upFP as in the days of former ignorance. PerformFP prayers, payFP the poor-tax, and obeyFP Allah and his messenger. Household, Allah wants to put abominations far from youMP and purify youMP.
0
34
RememberFP Allah’s signs and wisdom that are read in yourFP houses. Allah is kind and aware.
0
35
Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward for men and women who submit, men and women believers, devout men and women, truthful men and women, men and women who endure, humble men and women, men and women who give alms, men and women who fast, chaste men and women, and men and women who mention Allah frequently.
0
36
No believing man or woman has a choice in their matter once Allah and his messenger have decreed a matter. Whoever disobeys Allah and his messenger has clearly gone astray.
0
37
When youMS told the one blessed by Allah and blessed by youMS, “Keep yourMS wife and fearMS Allah,” youMS hid in yourMS soul what Allah had shown and fearedMS people. Allah is more worthy of being feared. When Zayd had done what was necessary for her, we married youMS to her, so that believers would be blameless regarding the wives of their adopted sons if they do what is required for themFP. Allah’s order was carried out.
0
38
The prophet is not to be blamed regarding Allah’s commands, regarding the custom of those who passed away beforehand. Allah’s command is a determined decree.
0
39
Those who deliver Allah’s messages fear him, and fear no one else besides Allah. Allah is a sufficient reckoner.
0
40
Muhammad was not the father of any of yourMP men, but Allah’s messenger, and the seal of the prophets. Allah knows everything.
0
41
Believers, remember Allah frequently.
0
42
Worship him morning and evening.
0
43
He and his angels bless youMP, to bring youMP out of darkness into the light. He is merciful to believers.
0
44
The greeting they will be given on the day they meet him is “Peace.” He has prepared a generous reward for them.
0
45
Prophet, we sent youMS as a witness, a bearer of good news, a warner,
0
46
a caller to Allah by his permission, and a shining lamp.
0
47
Give believers the good news that they have Allah’s great grace.
0
48
Do not obeyMS disbelievers and hypocrites. IgnoreMS their harm, and trustMS in Allah. Allah is a sufficient protector.
0
49
Believers, if youMP marry believing women and then divorce themFP before youMP have sex with themFP, there is no time period youMP have to wait. Make provision for themFP and divorce themFP graciously.
0
50
Prophet, we have allowed youMS to marry yourMS wives when youMS have paid theirFP dowry, as well as slave girls youMS own from spoils Allah has given youMS, as well as any daughters of yourMS paternal uncles and aunts, daughters of yourMS maternal uncles and aunts who emigrated with youMS, or any believing woman who gives herself to the prophet, if the prophet wants to marry her. This is a special privilege for youMS, and not for the believers. We know what we decreed for themMP about theirMP wives and the slave girls they own, so that youMS would be blameless. Allah is forgiving and merciful.
0
51
22A2 YouMS can put away those youMS want, and bring to yourselfMS those youMS wish. If youMS want one of them that youMS have sent away, youMS are blameless. That way, it is more likely to comfort themFP, so that theyFP would not sorrow, but rather be pleasedFP with yourMS gift to each of themFP. Allah knows what is in yourMP hearts. Allah is all-knowing and gentle.
0
52
Beyond that, women are not allowed for youMS, nor can youMS exchange themFP for other wives, even if theirFP beauty pleases youMS, except for slave girls youMS own. Allah watches over everything.
0
53
Believers, do not go into the houses of the prophet until youMP have been given permission to eat, without lookingMP for a convenient opportunity. If youMP are invited, enterMP, and when youMP have finished eating, disperseMP, not askingMP permission to speak. That would harm the prophet and he would be ashamed of youMP. Allah is not ashamed of the truth. If youMP ask themFP for something, askMP themFP from behind a curtain. That is purer for yourMP hearts and theirFP hearts. YouMP should not harm Allah’s messenger, or ever marryMP his wives after him. That would be a great sin to Allah.
0
54
Whether youMP reveal something or hideMP it, Allah knows everything.
0
55
There is no blame for themFP in front of theirFP fathers, theirFP sons, theirFP brothers, theirFP brothers’ or sisters’ sons, theirFP maidservants or theirFP slaves. FearFP Allah, for Allah is witness of everything.
0
56
Allah and his angels bless the prophet. Believers, bless him and greet him.
0
57
Those who harm Allah and his messenger are damned by Allah in this world and the hereafter. He has prepared shameful torment for them.
0
58
Those who harm men and women believers undeservingly have taken slander and clear guilt upon themselves.
0
59
Prophet, tell yourMS wives, yourMS daughters, and the believers’ wives to drawFP theirFP robes around themFP, so that it would be more likely that theyFP would be known and not harmedFP. Allah is forgiving and merciful.
0
60
22A3 If the hypocrites, those with sick hearts, and those who cause commotion in the city do not stop, we will incite youMS against themMP. Then theyMP will live nearby youMS in it only for a short while,
0
61
damned. Wherever they are found, they will be seized and slaughtered,
0
62
as is Allah’s custom regarding those who passed away beforehand. YouMS will find no change in Allah’s customs.
0
63
People ask youMS about the hour. SayMS, “Only Allah knows about it.” He does not tell youMS about it, because the hour might be soon.
0
64
Allah has damned the disbelievers and prepared a burning fire for them,
0
65
where they will be forever. They will not find a helper or savior
0
66
on the day their faces are turned over in hellfire. They will say, “If only we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the messenger.”
0
67
They said, “Our Lord, we obeyed our masters and leading men, and they led us astray from the way.
0
68
Our Lord, give them twice as much torment, and damn them greatly.
0
69
Believers, do not be like those who harmed Musa, though Allah vindicated him from what they said. He was highly exalted with Allah.”
0
70
Believers, fear Allah and speakMP an opportune saying.
0
71
He will make yourMP deeds good and forgive yourMP sins. Whoever obeys Allah and his messenger has won the great victory.
0
72
We offered a trust for safekeeping to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains, and they refused to bear it, and feared it. Mankind took it, and they were unjust  and foolish,
0
73
so Allah will torment men and women hypocrites and men and women idolaters, but will accept the repentance of men and women believers. Allah is forgiving and merciful.
